Having graduated in 2022 with a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Jordan Roth now lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Their studio practice includes mainly hand-drawn illustration and comics, ceramics, and printmaking.Through their work, Jordan explores personal and social narratives, often using abrasive or “ugly” imagery to question ideas of beauty and societal expectations. Much of their art also emerges from imagined worlds, inviting reflection on escapism—its comforts as well as its complications and how art can hold space for these contradictions.
